6 Hawkeyes Win Luther Hill Open Titles
Iowa finishes 1-2-3 in men's, women's races

IOWA CITY, Iowa - The Iowa cross country teams opened their season Friday at the Luther Hill Open, placing first in both the men's and women's 5,000-meter races at Ashton Cross Country Course in Rock Island, Illinois.
Redshirt sophomore Luke Guttormson led the Hawkeye men, winning the race in 14:22.4. The Hawkeyes finished 1-2-3, with junior Carter Lilly second in 14:52.6 and senior Connor Murphy third in 14:54.9.
Iowa's women also claimed the top three spots, with junior Brie Oakley winning in 16:57.1. Sophomore Natalie Galligan was second in 17:00.8, and senior Abby Caldwell third in 17:03.6.
The Hawkeyes return to action Sept. 17 at the Bradley Pink Classic in Peoria, Illinois.
