Leclerc frustrated on final lap to start Sprint eighth
Carlos Sainz qualified fifth for the Brazilian Grand Prix Sprint as he pipped team-mate Charles Leclerc to secure the best of the rest position behind the Mercedes and Red Bull drivers.
Sainz lapped the Interlagos circuit in a best time of 1m08.414s on his final lap to finish just 0.047s clear of Leclerc.
It was a frustrating qualifying session for Leclerc, who was quickest in the first two segments but was unable to improve his time on his final lap when he got held up by Fernando Alonso.
