Tigers improve to 7-0, remain unbeaten in ACC play
Tyler Brown hauls in two touchdowns as Clemson's offense explodes in the second half
The Clemson Tigers football team continued their dominant start to the 2023 season with a resounding 45-10 victory over the Louisville Cardinals on Saturday night at Death Valley.
The Tigers, now 7-0 overall and 5-0 in ACC play, were led by a stellar performance from quarterback Cade Klubnik, who completed 18 of 26 passes for 246 yards and three touchdowns.
Wide receiver Tyler Brown was Klubnik's favorite target, hauling in six receptions for 104 yards and two touchdowns. Running back Will Shipley also had a big day, rushing for 98 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries.
The Tigers' defense was equally impressive, holding Louisville to just 283 yards of total offense and forcing three turnovers.
Clemson took control of the game in the second half, outscoring Louisville 28-3 after the break.
The Tigers got on the board first with a 3-yard touchdown run by Shipley in the first quarter.
Louisville tied the game with a 32-yard field goal by James Turner in the second quarter, but Clemson regained the lead with a 2-yard touchdown pass from Klubnik to Brown.
The Tigers extended their lead to 21-10 with a 3-yard touchdown run by Kobe Pace in the third quarter.
Clemson then put the game away with two more touchdowns in the fourth quarter, a 13-yard pass from Klubnik to Brown and a 30-yard run by Phil Mafah.
The Tigers will be back in action next Saturday when they travel to Tallahassee to take on the Florida State Seminoles.
