High Winds Cause Power Outages, Tree Damage
OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. (KOKH) — Emergency crews are responding to reports of destructive winds in northeast Oklahoma City.
The winds, which began blowing around 5 p.m. Thursday, have caused widespread damage along NE 23rd & Luther Rd.
Several trees have been uprooted and power lines have been downed, causing power outages in the area.
Emergency crews are on the scene working to clear the debris and restore power.
There are no reports of injuries at this time.
The National Weather Service has issued a high wind warning for Oklahoma County until 9 p.m. Thursday.
Residents are urged to stay indoors and avoid travel if possible.

- Stay indoors and away from windows.
- If you must go outside, wear a hat and jacket to protect yourself from the wind.
- Be aware of your surroundings and watch for downed power lines.
- If you see a downed power line, stay away from it and call 911.
- If you are driving, slow down and be prepared for sudden gusts of wind.
