Dmitry Prishchepa returns to Volgograd Rotor
Experienced defender re-signs with Russian Football National League club
Volgograd Rotor has announced the return of defender Dmitry Prishchepa to the club. The 34-year-old left-back, who previously played for Rotor from 2013 to 2016, has signed a one-year contract with the Russian Football National League (FNL) side.
Prishchepa is a product of the Rotor youth academy and made his debut for the first team in 2006. He went on to make over 100 appearances for the club before leaving for FC Yenisey in 2016.
After two seasons with Yenisey, Prishchepa returned to Rotor in 2018 and helped the club win promotion to the Russian Premier League. He made 25 appearances for Rotor in the top flight last season before leaving the club at the end of the campaign.
Versatile defender brings experience to young Rotor squad
Prishchepa is a versatile defender who can play at left-back, right-back, or centre-back. He is a strong tackler and has good passing skills. He will bring experience to a young Rotor squad that is looking to bounce back from relegation to the FNL.
"I am very happy to be back at Rotor," Prishchepa said. "This is my home club and I am looking forward to helping the team get back to the Premier League."
Rotor looking to improve on last season's performance
Rotor finished 15th in the Russian Premier League last season and were relegated to the FNL. The club has made a number of changes to the squad during the summer transfer window, and Prishchepa is one of several new signings.
Rotor will be looking to improve on last season's performance and challenge for promotion to the Premier League. The club has a strong squad and Prishchepa's experience will be a valuable asset.
