Jaylon Tyson Injury: Another Absence Coming
Lack of depth remains an issue for the Green Bay Packers
Tyson suffered a concussion in Saturday's preseason game
Green Bay Packers linebacker Jaylon Tyson suffered a concussion in Saturday's preseason game against the New Orleans Saints and is expected to miss some time, according to a source.
Tyson, who started 11 games last season, is now the second Packers linebacker to suffer a concussion this preseason. Oren Burks suffered a concussion in the team's first preseason game against the San Francisco 49ers.
The Packers are already thin at linebacker, so Tyson's injury could be a significant blow. The team has just seven linebackers on its roster, and only four of them have any starting experience.
The Packers are hoping that Tyson will be able to return soon, but there is no timetable for his return. In the meantime, the team will likely have to rely on Burks and undrafted rookie Jack Heflin to fill in.
Tyson's injury is just the latest in a string of bad news for the Packers this preseason. The team has also lost wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling to a hamstring injury and cornerback Jaire Alexander to a groin injury.
The Packers will open the regular season on September 11th against the Minnesota Vikings. It remains to be seen how many of their injured players will be able to play in that game.
