Juventus Win, Udinese Lose in Serie A Thriller
Juventus Stay Close in Title Race
Juventus kept pace with the Serie A leaders on Sunday with a hard-fought 2-1 win over Udinese. Weston McKennie gave Juventus the lead in the 11th minute, but Udinese equalized through Isaac Success in the 22nd minute.
The match looked set to end in a draw, but Juventus was awarded a penalty in the 83rd minute after Udinese's Bram Nuytinck was adjudged to have fouled Matthijs de Ligt. Cristiano Ronaldo stepped up to take the penalty and made no mistake, sending the ball into the bottom corner.
Orsolini Continues Scoring Streak
Elsewhere in Serie A, Riccardo Orsolini scored his third goal in as many games as Bologna beat Sampdoria 2-1. The 24-year-old winger has been in excellent form for Bologna this season and is now the club's leading scorer.
Bologna took the lead in the 15th minute through Musa Barrow, but Sampdoria equalized through Fabio Quagliarella in the 27th minute. Orsolini then scored the winner for Bologna in the 65th minute.
Napoli Stay Top
Napoli remain top of Serie A after beating Fiorentina 2-0 on Saturday. Dries Mertens and Lorenzo Insigne scored the goals for Napoli, who have now won their first three games of the season.
AC Milan is in second place, two points behind Napoli, after beating Lazio 2-0 on Sunday. Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Rafael Leao scored the goals for Milan.
Juventus Face Tough Test Next
Juventus will face a tough test of their title credentials next weekend when they travel to Napoli. Napoli is the only team to have beaten Juventus in Serie A this season, and they will be looking to make it two wins out of two against the reigning champions.
Udinese, meanwhile, will be looking to bounce back from their defeat to Juventus when they host Fiorentina next weekend.
