Kentucky freshman says EA Sports College Football video game has him expecting a loud crowd at Tennessee
Will Levis got a taste of Neyland Stadium’s notorious atmosphere through a video game
Levis is set to make his first career start at Neyland Stadium on Saturday
Kentucky freshman quarterback Will Levis says he’s expecting a loud crowd at Neyland Stadium on Saturday when the Wildcats take on the Tennessee Volunteers. Levis, who is set to make his first career start, said he got a taste of Neyland Stadium’s notorious atmosphere through the EA Sports College Football video game.
“I’ve played the video game, so I know it’s going to be loud,” Levis said. “I’m excited for the challenge.”
Levis said he’s been preparing for the noise by listening to crowd noise during practice. He said he’s also been working on his communication with his teammates so that they can stay on the same page in the midst of the chaos.
“We’ve been practicing with crowd noise all week,” Levis said. “We’re just trying to get used to it so that it’s not a shock when we get there.”
Levis said he’s confident that he can handle the pressure of playing in front of a large and hostile crowd. He said he’s been in similar situations before, and he’s always been able to perform well.
“I’m not going to let the crowd get to me,” Levis said. “I’m just going to go out there and play my game.”
Levis’ confidence is well-founded. He was a highly sought-after recruit coming out of high school, and he has impressed the Kentucky coaching staff with his arm strength and athleticism. He’s also shown a poise and maturity beyond his years.
If Levis can play well in front of a hostile crowd at Neyland Stadium, it will be a major step forward in his development. It will also give Kentucky a chance to pull off an upset on the road.
