Marshall football: Senior day comes early for Herd
Marshall will honor 11 seniors during Saturday's game against Rice
Marshall football will honor 11 seniors during Saturday's game against Rice. The Herd will recognize the seniors before the game, and they will be introduced on the field during the first quarter.
The seniors being honored are:
- Offensive lineman Alex Mollette
- Offensive lineman Will Ulmer
- Offensive lineman Ethan Hayes
- Tight end Xavier Gaines
- Wide receiver Jaylon Rembert
- Wide receiver Corey Gammage
- Running back Khalan Laborn
- Linebacker Tavian King
- Safety Nazeeh Johnson
- Cornerback Steven Gilmore Jr.
- Long snapper Kameron May
The seniors have been a key part of Marshall's success this season. The Herd are 6-4 overall and 3-3 in Conference USA play. Marshall is bowl eligible for the first time since 2018.
The seniors have helped Marshall win some big games this season, including a 26-21 victory over Appalachian State and a 34-31 win over Old Dominion. The seniors have also helped Marshall compete in close games, such as a 23-20 loss to Troy and a 31-28 loss to Western Kentucky.
The seniors will be playing their final game at Joan C. Edwards Stadium on Saturday. They will be looking to go out with a win and send the Herd to a bowl game.
