Thundering Herd Triumphs Over Old Dominion
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - The Marshall Thundering Herd football team won their third consecutive game of the season on Saturday, defeating the Old Dominion Monarchs 27-13 at Joan C. Edwards Stadium.
Thundering Herd Dominates From the Start
Marshall took control of the game early and never looked back. The Thundering Herd scored touchdowns on their first two possessions, taking a 14-0 lead in the first quarter.
The defense was also dominant, forcing three turnovers and holding Old Dominion to just 13 points.
Grant Wells Leads the Thundering Herd
Quarterback Grant Wells was once again impressive for the Thundering Herd, completing 18 of 26 passes for 224 yards and two touchdowns.
He also rushed for 43 yards and a touchdown.
Receiving Corps Steps Up
The receiving corps also played a big role in the victory. Talik Keaton led the way with six receptions for 82 yards and a touchdown.
Xavier Gaines and Corey Gammage also had touchdown catches.
Defense Forces Three Turnovers
The defense was stout, forcing three turnovers in the game.
Steven Gilmore had two interceptions, while Micah Abraham recovered a fumble.

The Thundering Herd will return to action on Saturday, October 15, when they host the UAB Blazers.
