Reijnders header seals unconvincing Milan win
Dutchman's goal enough as Rossoneri labour to victory over struggling Sampdoria
Milan returned to winning ways in Serie A with a narrow 1-0 victory over Sampdoria at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris on Saturday.
Stefano Pioli's side had lost their previous two league games and were far from their best against a Sampdoria side who are battling relegation.
The only goal of the game came in the first half when Sandro Tonali's cross found Jens Petter Hauge, whose header was saved by Emil Audero.
The rebound fell to Reijnders, who made no mistake from close range.
Milan had chances to extend their lead in the second half, but they were wasteful in front of goal.
Sampdoria also had their chances, but they were unable to find a way past Gianluigi Donnarumma.
The win moves Milan up to second in the Serie A table, two points behind leaders Inter Milan.
Reijnders' goal was his first for Milan since joining the club from AZ Alkmaar in the summer.
The Dutchman has been a key player for Milan this season, and his goal against Sampdoria was a just reward for his performances.
Milan will be hoping that Reijnders can continue to find the net in the coming weeks and help them to challenge for the Serie A title.
