Southwestern US hit by severe weather in November
A tornado touched down in Texas on November 3, 2023, causing widespread damage. The twister, which was rated EF-3 on the Enhanced Fujita Scale, tore through the town of Smithville, destroying homes and businesses. Several people were injured, but no fatalities have been reported.
The tornado was part of a larger storm system that brought heavy rain and severe thunderstorms to the southwestern United States. The storm system also produced tornadoes in Oklahoma and Arkansas.
