Yashasvi Jaiswal key for India in Wankhede chase: Anil Kumble
Former India coach Anil Kumble has said that Yashasvi Jaiswal will be key to India's chances of chasing down the target of 308 set by New Zealand in the second ODI at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
Jaiswal, who made his ODI debut in the first match of the series, scored a half-century and was involved in a century partnership with Shubman Gill. Kumble believes that Jaiswal's ability to play big innings and his temperament will be crucial for India in this match.
India lost the first ODI by 7 wickets, but Kumble believes that the team has the potential to bounce back and win the series. He said, "India have a very good team and they have the ability to win this series. They just need to play to their potential and execute their plans well.”
Kumble also praised the New Zealand team, saying that they are a very good side and will be a tough challenge for India. He said, “New Zealand are a very good team and they have been playing very well in recent times. They have a lot of experience and they know how to win matches. India will need to be at their best to beat them.”
The second ODI between India and New Zealand will be played at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on January 18, 2023.
