Captain Liam Livingstone Rises to the Occasion as England Levels ODI Series Against West Indies
Livingstone's Heroics Lead England to Victory
England's white-ball captain, Liam Livingstone, led from the front with a magnificent all-round performance as the visitors levelled the three-match ODI series against the West Indies on Saturday.
Livingstone scored a fluent 66 off 52 deliveries and then returned with the ball to take 3-33 as England restricted the hosts to 245-9 in 50 overs.
England's Bowling Effort
Apart from Livingstone, England's bowlers were also impressive. David Willey picked up 2-45, while Adil Rashid and Sam Curran took one wicket each.
The West Indies were well-placed at 184-3 in the 36th over, but England's bowlers applied the squeeze and restricted the hosts to 61 runs in the last 14 overs.
Livingstone's Captaincy Innings
Livingstone's knock was a timely one for England. He came to the crease with the visitors in trouble at 86-3 in the 19th over.
The England captain played some exquisite shots, including seven fours and two sixes, and added 109 runs for the fourth wicket with Harry Brook (50).
England's Batting Performance
Apart from Livingstone and Brook, Joe Root (36) and Ben Stokes (29) also made useful contributions with the bat.
England lost three early wickets, but Livingstone's innings steadied the ship and helped the visitors post a competitive total of 246-7 in 50 overs.
Series Levelled
With the win, England have levelled the three-match ODI series 1-1. The decider will be played in Barbados on Tuesday.
Livingstone's performance will give England plenty of confidence ahead of the upcoming ICC World Cup in India.
