Zach Durfee dealing with turf toe in both feet
Broncos' backup quarterback suffers toe injury on both feet
Durfee returns to practice on Wednesday
Denver Broncos backup quarterback Zach Durfee is dealing with turf toe in both feet, coach Nathaniel Hackett said Wednesday.
Durfee suffered the injury during the Broncos' preseason game against the Buffalo Bills on Saturday.
Hackett said Durfee returned to practice on Wednesday, but he is still day-to-day.
Turf toe is a common foot injury that occurs when the big toe is bent backward too far, causing the ligament that connects the toe to the foot to become inflamed.
The injury can be painful and can make it difficult to walk or run.
Durfee is the Broncos' No. 2 quarterback behind Russell Wilson.
If Durfee is unable to play, the Broncos would likely turn to Brett Rypien to be Wilson's backup.
