Chargers WR Chark off IR; questionable for Sun.
Wide receiver Keenan Allen still doing individual work
Mike Williams may also sit out; Donald Parham could be active
Wide receiver Mike Williams (ankle) was a non-participant in the Chargers' practice Wednesday, and it's sounding increasingly likely he'll miss Sunday's game against the Seahawks, Lindsey Thiry of ESPN reports. "It's pretty sore," Williams said of his ankle. "It's frustrating, but I've just got to get healthy."
Fellow wideout Keenan Allen (hamstring) did some light individual work Wednesday and could see limited practice participation Thursday. It's too early to tell if he'll suit up Sunday, but Allen is cautiously optimistic. "It's definitely trending in the right direction," he said.
With Allen and Williams both potentially out, Donald Parham could be in line for a significant role. Parham caught four passes for 65 yards and a touchdown in Week 1 against the Raiders and could see even more targets this week if Allen and Williams are sidelined.
The Chargers offense is still trying to find its footing in 2023, but Parham has shown some promise. The 6-foot-8 tight end has good size and athleticism, and he could be a valuable weapon for quarterback Justin Herbert.
The Chargers are hoping to get Allen and Williams back soon, but for now, they'll have to rely on Parham and other role players to step up.
