Novak Djokovic's Future Uncertain After Wimbledon Loss
Former coach Ivan Ljubicic unsure of Djokovic's next move
Novak Djokovic's future in tennis is uncertain after his shock defeat to Sam Querrey in the third round of Wimbledon.
The Serbian star, who was bidding for a third successive Wimbledon title and a record-equaling 21st Grand Slam, was beaten in straight sets by the American.
It was Djokovic's first Grand Slam defeat since the 2021 French Open and his first at Wimbledon since 2017.
Djokovic's form has been patchy in recent months
Djokovic has not won a tournament since the Italian Open in May and has struggled for form in recent months.
He was beaten in the quarterfinals of the Australian Open by Daniil Medvedev and in the semifinals of the French Open by Rafael Nadal.
Djokovic has also been hampered by a hamstring injury, which forced him to retire from the Rome Masters in May.
Ljubicic: "He doesn't know what to do"
Djokovic's former coach, Ivan Ljubicic, said the Serbian is "lost" and "doesn't know what to do" after his Wimbledon defeat.
Ljubicic, who coached Djokovic from 2016 to 2018, said the Serbian is "not sure" of his future in tennis.
"He's lost, he doesn't know what to do," Ljubicic said.
Djokovic could take a break from tennis
One possibility is that Djokovic could take a break from tennis to rest and recover from his hamstring injury.
He could also decide to retire, although this seems unlikely given his age and his desire to win more Grand Slams.
Another possibility is that Djokovic could continue to play but with a reduced schedule.
Djokovic's legacy is secure
Regardless of what Djokovic decides to do, his legacy in tennis is secure.
He is one of the greatest players of all time, having won 20 Grand Slams and spent a record 387 weeks at world number one.
Only Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal have won more Grand Slams than Djokovic, and he is widely considered to be one of the best players to have ever played the game.
