Spurs boss Postecoglou discusses plans for Dragusin
Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou has confirmed that summer signing Mario Vuskovic is set to miss the rest of the season through injury.
The Croatian stopper, signed from Hajduk Split in the summer, has not featured for the Hoops since injuring his knee in the 4-1 win over Ross County in September.
Speaking to the media ahead of Celtic's Scottish Cup clash with Greenock Morton on Saturday, Postecoglou revealed that Vuskovic had suffered a setback in his recovery and would now be sidelined for the remainder of the campaign.
"Unfortunately, Mario has had a setback in his recovery," Postecoglou said. "He had been making good progress, but he has suffered another injury which will keep him out for the rest of the season."
Vuskovic's absence is a blow to Celtic, who have been without several key defenders through injury this season. Christopher Jullien, Carl Starfelt, and Cameron Carter-Vickers have all missed significant spells on the sidelines, leaving Postecoglou short of options at the back.
However, the Celtic boss is confident that his team can cope without Vuskovic and is hopeful that the Croatian will be back fit and firing for the start of next season.
"We have other players who can come in and do a job for us," Postecoglou said. "We have been unlucky with injuries this season, but we have a strong squad and we will be able to deal with it."
"Mario is a talented player and we are looking forward to having him back next season. He is a young player with a lot of potential and I am sure he will have a big future at Celtic."
