Latham said that the team was determined to prove a point in India
New Zealand captain Tom Latham expressed his delight after his team's historic 3-0 Test series win over India. India went into the series unbeaten in their last 14 home Tests.
"We wanted to come here and fire a few shots across the bow and make sure that we could play our brand of cricket," Latham said.
Latham praised his team's determination and resilience throughout the series.
"We had a lot of belief in ourselves. We've been playing some really good cricket over the last few months and we were confident that we could come here and get a result," he said.
Latham singled out the performance of his bowlers as a key factor in the series win.
"Our bowlers were outstanding. They put India under pressure from ball one and never let them get away," he said.
Latham also praised the batting unit for putting up big totals in each match.
"Our batsmen also did a great job. We scored some big runs and put India under pressure," he said.
Overall, Latham said that the series win was a special moment for his team.
"It's a huge achievement. We're really proud of what we've been able to do. It's a great feeling to come to India and win a Test series," he said.
